In this lesson students listen to Malala Yousafzai’s “Address to the United Nations Youth Assembly” before analyzing her use of rhetoric in paragraphs 1–6 to advance her purpose. Students participate in both a whole-class and pair discussions before annotating their copies of the text for rhetoric.
