In this lesson, students read Hamlet’s final soliloquy (Act 4.4, lines 34–69). Students examine how Shakespeare continues to develop Hamlet’s character in this passage, paying particular attention to the use of comparisons and Fortinbras’s role as a foil for Hamlet.
